Our Two Core Events:

He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata, he tangata, he tangata.

What is the most important thing in the world? It is the people, it is the people, it is the people.

FireUp Events is a firefighter-led organisation, run independently by members of the New Zealand firefighter community. Our purpose is simple: to raise vital funds for nominated charities while increasing public awareness through firefighter-focused physical challenges and competitions.

Each year, we deliver one of the world’s largest stair-climb events at Auckland’s Sky Tower. Over the past 25 years, the Firefighter Sky Tower Challenge has raised more than $1 million for Blood Cancer NZ (formerly Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand), supporting patients and families across the country.

We are also proud to be the team behind the New Zealand Memorial Climb – an event dedicated to honouring firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty. This includes remembering those who served within New Zealand’s fire services, as well as the 343 firefighters of the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11.

Firefighter Sky Tower Challenge

This challenge brings together firefighters from across New Zealand and around the world to take on the 1,328-step climb of Auckland’s Sky Tower in full operational gear, raising vital funds for Blood Cancer NZ. It stands as a test of endurance, teamwork, and purpose – supporting patients, families, and research throughout Aotearoa.
